Sifu Rob Bibeau, is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a true American hero. He served as an Infantry Officer and an Intelligence Officer during the Iraq War. In July 2013, Captain Bibeau resigned his Commission as a result of wounds suffered in Iraq in 2008, citing that while he very much wanted to be a Company Commander, he had no business taking other peoples sons and daughters back into combat.

Sifu Rob has over 20 years combined Martial Arts experience and in addition to his Kung Fu experience is a Black Belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP.) He began a study of Kung Fu during his first deployment to Iraq during “the Surge” in 2007. Studying at that time a Vietnamese style of Kung Fu known as Than Vo Dao under his friend, the Battalion’s Medical Officer. Sifu Rob later began an intense Kung Fu and Qi Gong training regimen under Sifu Mario Figueroa as an alternative therapy to assist in recovery from serious combat injury after he was wounded in action by an improvised explosive device (IED) in September, 2008. In order to facilitate further therapeutic benefit, Sifu Rob’s advanced training and professional development has begun under Sifu Steven Perez and Sifu E. Orlando Ayala of the Southern Five Chinese Boxing Academy.

Sifu Rob founded Mountain Path Kung Fu and Tai Chi Academy to assist in providing the youth and people of his home city and state with a life-enhancing activity. Currently he also serves as the Junior Vice Department Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (New Mexico). Apart from pursuing his own further development in his Kung Fu and Qi Gong, Sifu Rob enjoys spending time with his family especially camping and fishing, writing and woodworking.
